GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Have thorough knowledge of children’s physical development stages from neonatal stage to the ages of 5 or 6 in order to take care of them properly.
Carry out hygiene practices before taking care of or play with the children.
Be responsible and love children, consider them as your family members.
Pay attention to children’s safety when involving with toys and households.
Do not scold children or have physically rough actions to them.
Comply with host parents’ requirements in taking care of children.

CHILDREN BETWEEN NEONATAL STAGE AND TODDLER

Clean baby bottles and utensils before and after preparing baby food.
Adhere to the requirements in preparing baby food and feeding them, for example: the temperature of water for milk, the amount of milk powder used, the amount of food ingredients used, etc.
Perform personal hygiene (cutting nails, washing hands with soaps, etc.) before taking the children to bath.
Prepare all necessary items: clean clothes, clean towels, bath gel, shampoo, special pots, etc. before taking babies to bath.
Understand the basic knowledge about some common diseases can be encountered in children and how to handle: cough, fever, etc.
Regularly chat with children, sing or play light music every day, especially before they go to bed.
Hang some colorful toys above the baby bed and change the hanging distance to help the child develop eyesight.
Choose bright-colored, durable, and light toys that have no sharp edges.

Express the joyful feelings and excitements when playing with children.

Check for problems such as tight clothing, insect bites, etc. as soon as the child has signs of discomfort.
Add more fruits in the recipe for nutrients and vitamins.
Clean up toys and avoid turning on the TV when feeding children.
Help children develop a habit of eating the right meal at the right time of the day.
Help children develop a habit of washing their hands before and after eating.
Periodically do fingernails and toenails cuts for children.
Encourage children to interact with nature, such as going to the park, walking the streets … to stimulate children to develop awareness of the surrounding environment.
Keep dangerous objects such as knives, scissors, hooks, small buttons, small particles, etc. out of children’s reach.
Have the knowledge of how to choose the right toys to help children improve brain and visual development.

CHILDREN AGING 3, 4, 5

Three-year-olds should be involved in language-focused activities, advocacy activities. These activities include puzzle and blocks, climbing toys, drama and storytelling activities.
Four-year-olds love to engage in arts, crafts and cooking. These activities help children recognize shapes, colors, use some basic mathematical concepts faster, and use problem-solving skills.

Some 4-year-olds and most 5-year-olds know how to combine ideas, memory, and motion skills. At this age, children may like to write or communicate with people, enjoy special events and traveling.
Adults need to listen to their children and encourage them to play creative activities, participate in their children’s activities, help them build confidence and set appropriate limits to their actions.
